Areas of expertise
Elena Spasova is a PhD student at the New Bulgarian University in the field of international economic relations and world economy. She is a graduate from Sofia University, BA in European Studies (2010), and from New Bulgarian University, MA in International Business (2012). Her dissertation research focuses on the effect of different exchange rate regimes and the impact of foreign trade relations on an economy’s long-term growth. Her interests are in the field of sustainable economic growth; balance-of-payment constraints on growth; patterns of growth and development in Asia and Latin America.
She has experience in business consulting and fundraising in the NGO sector.
She is a winner of the BNB 2012 Scholarship Competition with an essay on the topic "Benefits and restrictions of introducing a fiscal rule in Bulgaria" and a participant in SBS Master Classes 2012 and 2013.
